The Valley of flowers trek is a beautiful place to visit with your family and friends.  Valley of flowers national park is the natural wonder, expanse of 87 square kilometers in the Chamoli district, Uttarakhand. Valley of flowers was declared a national park in 1982. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

What is the best time to visit Valley of Flowers Trek?

Valley of flower trek best time is in monsoon season. The best season to visit Valley of Flowers and Hemkund sahib is June, July, and August. During this season, trekkers can see the different varieties of flowers. Phoolo ki ghati is in full bloom during this season.

Valley of flowers Trek opens officially on 1st June every year until the beginning of September.

If you visit in June, the valley of flowers starts changing its color from white to green. You can also see the maximum number of flowers.


Valley of flower best time in July

If you visit in July, you can see the different varieties of flowers and also some small glaciers. If you want to see a lot of colorful flowers in the valley, July is the perfect time to visit. Trekkers can also get an opportunity to see the flowers of Anemone Tetrasepla, Gloden lily, ladies’ slipper Orchid and many more.

If you visit in August, the color of the valley changes from greenish to yellowish. The valley of flowers is the magical and enchanting place of the world. The high altitude valley of flowers trek in Uttarakhand has around 300 different varieties of flowers.

Day 1: Drive from Haridwar to Joshimath: 9-10 hours, 235 km

Day 2: Joshimath to Govindghat and trek from Govindghat to Ghangaria (3049 meters); 6-7 hours, 36 km

Day 3: Ghangaria (3049 meters) to Hemkund Sahib (4,329 meters) and back to Ghangaria (3049 meters); 8-9 hours, 12 km

Day 4: Ghangaria (3049 meters) to Valley of Flowers (3,858 meters) and back to Ghangaria (3049 meters);5-6 hours, 6 km

Day 5: Ghangaria to Govindghat; 6-7 hours,13 km

Day 6:  Govindghat to Haridwar
